What is Facial Rejuvenation?

By Chul H. (Danny) Han, MS. L.Ac.

www.ezacupuncture.comFacial Rejuvenation, also known as Cosmetic Acupuncture, is a virtually painless, non-surgical method of reducing the signs of the aging process.

Facial Rejuvenation reduces or eliminates fine lines, wrinkles, puffiness, sagging & discoloration of the face while simultaneously supporting overall health. For most patients, it may erase as many as 5 to 10 years from the face, with visible results after just a few treatments. Fine lines may be eliminated and deeper wrinkles reduced. Bags under the eyes can be diminished; drooping eyelids, brow lines, sagging jowls and double chins lifted. Treatments tighten pores, improve muscle tone and dermal contraction, increase collagen production and affect its distribution. Moisture in the skin and evenness of skin color will be balanced.

Though sometimes referred to as an “Acupuncture Facelift,” it is more than just a cosmetic procedure. Facial Rejuvenation brings out your inner beauty and radiance.

How are Facial Rejuvenation Treatments Performed?

Facial Rejuvenation treatments incorporate both acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine to achieve the desired results. Acupuncture needles are placed on the face in order to increase local circulation of blood and Qi to the skin. Patients also receive herbal prescriptions that improve metabolism. Overall, the combination of these 2 modalities helps the whole body look & feel younger by addressing the physical, mental and emotional patterns that cause disease and contribute to the aging process.

How Many Treatments Do I Need?

Most patients see visible results and experience additional positive benefits after just a few treatments. however, a full course of 10 sessions is required to achieve best results. After you have completed a full course of treatment, we recommend occasional “tune ups” every 1 or 2 months in order to maintain results.

Does Acupuncture Hurt?

Unlike hypodermic needles which are used for injecting Botox, acupuncture needles are super thin and solid, without a hollow center. Needles are inserted superficially in the skin and no surgery it required. It is common to experience a mild tingling or dull sensation, but these sensations subside once the needles have been place. The majority of patients report that the benefits of treatment offset any discomfort felt during the session.

What are the risks/side effects to treatment?

Unlike Botox or cosmetic surgery, which carry significant risks of infection and even facial paralysis, Facial Rejuvenation has virtually no serious or negative side effects. You may resume normal activity almost immediately after each session. Treatments may also be administered in the comfort and privacy of your home and are an affordable alternative to surgical methods.
